By entering the competition, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility
1.1. Age Requirement: Participants must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of registration.
1.2. Nationality: The competition is open to citizens and legal residents of the following countries: Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Seychelles, Ethiopia, South Africa, Botswana, Ghana, Namibia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Madagascar, Mozambique, Lesotho, Zambia, and Malawi, and Cameroon.
1.3. Residency: Participants must provide proof of residency or citizenship in one of the listed countries.
1.4. Exclusions: Employees, agents, and representatives of African Idol and their immediate families are not eligible to compete.
2. Registration Requirements
2.1. Participants must complete and submit the official registration form by the designated deadline.
2.2. Proof of age (e.g., ID, passport, or birth certificate) must be submitted during the registration process.
2.3. Participants must submit a video or attend an audition as per the schedule provided for their country.
3. Auditions and Selection
3.1. Two contestants from each participating country will qualify for the African Idol Academy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
3.2. Decisions made by the judges during auditions and subsequent stages are final and binding.
3.3. Contestants must adhere to the rules and schedule provided by African Idol during auditions and competition phases.
4. Performance Requirements
4.1. Participants must perform original or cover songs in any language of their choice but must avoid explicit content.
4.2. Contestants must commit to rehearsals, performances, and other events as scheduled by the organizers.
5. Conduct
5.1. Participants must display professionalism, respect, and good behavior at all times.
5.2. Any form of harassment, violence, or inappropriate conduct will result in immediate disqualification.
6. Rights and Permissions
6.1. By participating, contestants grant African Idol the right to use their name, image, and performance footage for promotional and broadcast purposes without additional compensation.
6.2. Participants must not engage in any external commercial or promotional activity without prior consent from African Idol while the competition is ongoing.
7. Prizes
7.1. The winner will receive a cash prize of $200,000 and a recording contract.
7.2. Other finalists may receive additional prizes at the discretion of the organizers.
8. Disqualification
8.1. Failure to adhere to any of the terms and conditions will result in immediate disqualification.
8.2. Providing false or misleading information during registration or at any stage of the competition will lead to disqualification.
9. Medical and Travel Responsibility
9.1. Contestants must ensure they are medically fit to participate in the competition.
9.2. African Idol will cover travel and accommodation costs for participants selected for the Academy in Dar es Salaam.
10. Disclaimer
10.1. African Idol reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
10.2. African Idol organizers are not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage incurred during the competition.
